I recently did a tune up plugs wires air filter accelerator and that electrical distributor cap thing. Then the other day i washed my truck witht he hood down and drove it around once then parked it and today it would not run and barely started
it sputtered for 1 to 5 seconds
when i pressed on the gas pedal i feathered it and could get it up to 2.5k never more and it would die anyways
it never got above 1.5k when unless i gassed it
starts fine or so it would seem
i read something about a valve possibly
or maybe a sensor?
i really have no clue where to start and any help would be awesome
i dont think any wires or hoses are causing the issue.
now it starts up and runs its kicking out a code that the dude at knetchs said is air intake temperature sensor but i read that the ait was in my mass airflow sensor?
im not sure any thoughts would be appreciated
i already replaced fuel filter and mass air flow sensor though
it will rev up to about 3k now until it seems to get choked then rev right back up
i havent taken it above 40 miles an hour still just down the road to get the code read
it sounds like you got water in a connector, somewhere, i'd double check the engine over. You might wanna check the main harness connector that plugs into the ecm, it's possible it might have got water in it
it was just bad, i checked all the sensors and every connection was fine no wires were split or anything. i even bought mass air flow cleaner(i think its a waste of money lol) but that didnt work. when i disconnected the MAF sensor it actually ran. that was my hint that that was the problem. then i drove it down to knetchs they used their computer i bought a new MAF sensor and it runs like a champ again.
