Default 98 Ranger 2.5 A/C troubles

OK my.. I have owned my truck for 3 years and not had any problems with the AC, but this year it seems weak but still works. An obvious ticking sound comes from the compressor when it is in engaged. I checked the pressure on the system and it was reading 35psi with an outside temp of 95. The chart I had said the psi should read 45-55 psi so I added 134 until it reached 50 psi and the ticking sound is still there, and there is no difference in the performance of the ac( specifically the ac barley cools when idle but is good with continuous driving). Also the 134 I added contained oil and a stop leak. Thanks for any advice.
