make sure to check the connector on your alternator, after having lower half of engine replaced the guys at garage for some reason moved the rubber grommet so that it was now in between connectors and did not allow full connection and would not charge battery occasionally, after replacing the alternator I still had the same problem finally one day after being fed up with the problem I got under there and pulled the connector off and found the issue, turck has not had a problem since

Alright Gentleman, final answer, alt, was shot. put the new one in, connected all the widgits and whatchamacallits, and guess what, the battery light came on when i turned the key, (went off like it was supposed to) battery was reading 14.4 on the multimeter, lights were nice and bright, (brightest i've seen them since i've owned the old girl). Thank you everyone for helping me out, pointing me in the right direction, and just putting up with my strange ass questions.
