Default Thermostat help....

So when my truck is killed my temp gauge goes to the middle, but when i start my truck, it goes all the way to the bottom and never goes back up. I was just wondering if its a bag thermostat and if it needs to be replaced, and if so..where is it located at?

There are two separate temperature sensors on our engines. One has 5 wires and it is for the ECU. The other has one wire, it is for the gauge. I don't remember where the 5-wired ECU sensor is located. The one for the gauge is on the block somewhere on the driver side I believe.

I could be the sensor is bad. If your heat is HOT like it should be, then you are right, the t-stat is probably not stuck open. If you find the sensor, unplug the wire and ground it. You'll probably see the gauge move.
