Default 96 2.3L Transmission Removal Issues

I am currently trying to do a clutch replacement on my truck. This is the first clutch replacement I've ever done myself, and we're having some trouble getting the transmission off after 3+ hours of trying to. We're following the Chilton guide

We've done the following (excuse any incorrect terminology)-
- Unattached the clutch line to the slave cylinder
- Removed the gear shift (gear is in neutral)
- Removed the drive shaft
- Removed 6 bolts between the engine and the transmission
- Removed the crossmember
- Pulled the starter out
- Disconnected other wires (? my buddy did that part, unsure what they were. Speedometer etc he said).

We have a jack under the transmission, and a bottle jack under the engine. No matter what we've done we can't get the transmission to come off. It seems like its connected at the top- we've tried using a crowbar, tried shaking it loose. We can't see any other bolts, but are we possibly missing one? It would have to be at the top if we are.

Does anyone have any idea? I don't want to warp the connection area between the transmission and the engine or anything else to damage it. Pictures/video of how to get it off?

There should be 8 bolts
Sounds like the 2 at the very top are still on there

There hidden by The egr tube between the fire wall & engine
Follow the edge of the bell housing to the top

If you drop the trans down in the back you might be able to see them

Thank you very much for that information, very much appreciated.

We found the other two bolts- they were in about the most inaccessible place they could have put them *grumble*. This whole 2-3 hour repair has turned into 2-3 days.
