check your battery cables down at the starter. i've had them corrode off before. wouldn't hurt to clean them up if they look nasty. if that's not it i'd try the neutral safety switch next..

I concur with all of the above. You can whack the starter with broom stick, hammer etc see if that frees anything else. So most likely. Solonoid, starter or neutral SS

Alright, so I've narrowed it down to the neutral safety switch or the CPP, starter is good, cleaned all my connections. I have no experience with either of these types of switches but looking around I figured out where the CPP is on my truck, is there any way to adjust it or do I just need to get a new one?

I think it is aactually called the clutch starter interlock switch. On my truck it in the the pushrod that gets depressed when u step on the clutch. Right above the clutch pedal. I looked in my haynes manuel. Mine staarts at 93 it says to disconnect neg bat term, uncilp wires off switch turn switch and squeeze tabs together and it will come off.

ok first off . you need to look down at the transmission if it's a a4ld there should be an electrical plug down there for the neutral safty switch {i'd help ya with location but my haynes book only goes back to 1993-2005 trucks} but the principal is the same. i'd check the connections down there to start with to see if they aren't corroded up.

There is no Neutral Safety Switch on your manual truck. The starter interlock is through the Clutch Pedal Position Switch on the clutch pushrod under the dash.

SHOULD BE:
pedal released => switch open => no starter;
pedal fully depressed => switch closed => starts with key.

Don't forget to check your starter solanoid(relay) I think it is right next to the power distribution box. Also on my truck fuse #24 in the cab fusebox is for the cpp switch. U might want to check if you have one

I think that CPP is adjustable but I not sure how to do it on my truck with the truck off if I press on the clutch pedal and release I can hear a switch

The solenoid is good I found that out when I forgot to un-hook my battery and grounded it while cleaning the connections, but I messed around with the rod connected to the clutch pedal and hooked it back up and now its starts again, so I probably just have a temp fix but thanks for the help guys.
