Default YFA carb issue

Got an '83 2WD with 2.0L 4spd. I want to sell (or dispose of it...it's in so-so shape) and I've rebuilt the YFA carb. It runs pretty much the same as before the rebuild, i.e. idle all over the place and a stumble/hesitation when I give it too much throttle, and I want to make it perform better in order to sell it. It's drivable, but only just. My question is: if I disconnected the electrical connections to the feedback solenoid and the solevac would I be creating any kind of hazard (fuel spillage or fire) by doing so.

You can disconnect them and it won't change the running condition, it didn't on mine.
Try adjusting the carb a LOT. fuel filter, etc. Mine was acting like that because a tiiiiny little steel ball was supposed to be pointy and it wasn't

Thanks, Gumcrew2, I guess I'll keep playing around. I remember seeing a little SS ball (2-3mm's) in the rebuild kit to replace the original. I'm guessing that it's some kind of check valve but didn't notice anything pointy about it. I replaced the fuel line and filter. I was hoping there was a way of "dumbing" this carb down without spending much to make it drivable enough sell easily.
