engine upgrade?
i have a 93 xlt ranger and its a 4cylinder but im lifting it and putting it on some 33s but i need to know if i should upgrade to a v6 or not???

You'll get better fuel mileage and more torque if you go in with the 4BT as mentioned above...
I would do it in a heartbeat if I had the extra money for a "new" engine!!!

If you intend to keep the truck for a LONG period of time, then the cost doesn't matter, regardless of what the truck is worth. I paid 1000.00 for mine, and there are those that would say an engine replacement would not be worth it, but I intend to pass this truck to my son. A 4BT would mak absolute perfect sense because of the abilities of the diesel engines to run alternative fuels such as cooking oil, waste oil (in limited quantites) hydrogen, propane, and ethanol.
If you are doing it for a toy, then stick with the 4 banger and go in with steeper gears.

i want to keep it for as long as possible cause it was my grandpas and the only new truck he ever bought so its sentimental and would a jeep strait six fit?

Why not go bigger? the work probably isn't too big of a differance, plus you will probably still have to change gears/differential, and tranny.
