Default Discontinued part F67A-9B593-FA

96 ranger, 2.3L , 4 cyl, 106k miles

I need to replace the fuel vapor (recovery) valve (next to the fuel pump). The neck that the rubber hose slides on snapped off. I tried to JB weld it but the weld wont stick to the slick plastic. The part number is F67A-9B593-FA. I called two local Ford parts shops and both told me it has been discontinued. The referred me to NAPA and the told me it was a dealer only part. I searched the WWW with the part number with no luck. Any suggestions on where to find a new or used replacement would be appreciated.

Is it actually the fuel vapor return valve or Vapor Canister Purge Valve ?

Look like this?

No... It in/part of the tank with only one "vapor line" connection. I have a picture but can't figure out how to get it from my desk top to the message thread.

I can't tell anything from your photo but from your description there may be a fix. Can you drill and tap the part and screw in a hose fitting? Or visit a body shop and ask for a squirt of panel adhesive or 3M Superfast Plastic Adhesive 55045.

I'm going junkyard hunting today, right now, to about a dozen local yards for a fuel pump for a friend.

I'll just take the whole tank and get what you need to bro. I visit 25-50 junkyards/wk .

The part numbers don't match but this is what I need. I called a couple salvage yards and was told good luck finding a gas tank. Once the truck comes to the yard the pull the fuel tanks and they are destroyed.

Keep in mind that it doesn't have to look like the origional part to work. You might be able to flatten the top, glue on a big chunk of plastic, drill and tap it for a hose fitting. You don't get any extra points for an exact copy of a piece of crap that broke anyway. It's not going through the auction at Scottsdale.

Why don't you buy that one off that site. If they look exactly the same when it comes to ford and mercury parts they usually are the same. Mercury uses all ford stuff. So you could try that.

4b316....thank you! I'm going to try and drill and tap it for a hose fitting tomorrow. If it doesn't work I'll send you a PM. The am-autoparts option will require a modification to get it to fit the ranger tank (same design but it's a larger part). If given the option I would rather go back with a used original part.
