Did it last night, took about 20 mins... the engine does sound "throutier" (sorry for the spelling) .... drove it for about 1 hour to work in heavy traffic so not sure about speed and mpg's... but it does sound nicer..... I'm thinking about doing an "ice-man" that is what we use to call it and is basically get a flexible hose ( like the one in the pic below) and use it to get cold air closer to air filter... putting one end of the hose directly behind the grill.. and the other right infront of the air filter box... basically a "poor mans air intake" right??

Same engine...no reason it shouldn't...In my 2008...the baffle was right behind the right headlight.in the air filter box...i'm not sure if it would be there in an '88 being 20 years older.

Hope that helps

FYI the 2008 2.3 is a totally different motor then the 1988 2.3. that being siad in my 1999 2.5 which is the same as the 882.3 the baffe is behind the passenger side headlight
