thump/thud under hood?
my truck makes a thud/thump kinda sound under the hood and i can figure out what it is. its mostly when idleing. sometimes it will change the idlespeed but doesnt make it rough. it will thud every minute or so id guess. i think its coming from the drivers side under the hood so could it be something with the brake booster or something vaccum related? no check engine light and master cylinder is full.
im lost any comments will help! thanks!

Sure it's not just your AC pump?

Re: thump/thud under hood?
ok it was the compress/pump that runs off the belt. i could see it engage and disengage on and off even in a non-a/c setting(heat with blowing at face and feet). is that normal?

Re: thump/thud under hood?
If its low, it will cycle on and off. You can get a can of refrigerant, with the valve and gauge for $30 at any auto parts store. Plug it on to the suction line (the only one it will fit on) and charge away. It seems to me that if you charge liquid (turn the can upside down) it charges a lot faster.
P.S. the A/C needs to be on to charge. The suction line will pull it into the system.

Re: thump/thud under hood?
I suggest that you have some dye put in to see where it went in the first place. I'm not sure if you can get dye in the little cans or not

Re: thump/thud under hood?
well i just hooked up the gauge and refridgerant fill can and i figured out the charge on it is fine... now im trying to figure out why my compressor engages/disengages on any setting except off. or is this normal?
i know for a/c and defrost settings it would be doing this but not on the others, any thoughts?
