Default Charcoal canister/ purge solenoid help on 87 2.3

Im trying to get my ranger up and running better than it is. I have the charcoal canister with the one line that leads to the gas tank and thats it. I know the other one will go to the vacuum operated purge solenoid. Question is, does this truck have an electric purge solenoid in line with it also? If so does anyone have any engine bay pictures of how its all routed and which electrical connectors go where?

Just dealt with a problem with mine, so it is still kind of fresh on my mind. Here are a few pictures, and some descriptions under the pictures to go along with them. Although this is off of a 96, it is probably the same...

This is a picture from the fire wall towards the front of the truck. The freshest hose (blackest) is coming out of the charcoal canister up, turning 90 degrees and entering a cylinder type valve (not too sure on what that is called). The "cylinder" thing has a whitish top (just so you know what i am talking about)

This is a picture of the same thing, from the other angle.

This is a picture form the drivers side of the engine bay. The blue plug is plugged into what i believe is the solenoid. This is the part i had to replace. From the firewall the hose plugs into the "solenoid", the "solenoid" has a 3 wire wire harness plugged into the bottom of it. After this solenoid you have a small length of hose and the "cylinder" shaped "valve".

Here is a picture of this "cylinder" Valve. The hose goes from the "solenoid" with the blue harness on the bottom, to this. It has a 2 wire wire harness plugged into the bottom. From this, there is a length of hose with a 90 degree bend in it (first photo) and the charcoal canister.

Here is a picture of the actual charcoal canister, you can see the 90 degree bend that goes into the "cylinder" valve.

Im sorry if some of the wording was a little off with the "cylinder" valve, but im not 100% sure what these parts are called. I was having a check engine light with the code P1443. This is my daily driver/beater so i just went to the junk yard and picked one up from a ranger with 300,000 miles less than mine and it fixed my problem. I hope this post helps solve your problem.

Thank for the pictures. Im thinking this truck uses a vacuum operated solenoid not an electrical one now.. Cause I cant find any information in my repair manual about the electrical connector. Plus when I ran my scanner tool Im only getting the code for TPS. Thanks though.....
