I didn't know where to post this so Ill post it here, I have a 1993 3.0 ranger with a clutch that is basically gone. what I was wondering if the clutch, bell housing ect from a 4 cyl would fit the my 3.0 v6. I am asking because I have the opputunity to snag a 4cyl ranger for 500 and the mechanic is asking 670 for this clutch job. any help guys?

According to AutoZone the clutch for a 94 Ranger 2.3L 4cyl has a disc diameter of 8 and 7/8 inches with a 1 inch spline with 23 splines.

A 94 Ranger with a 3.0L 6cyl also has a 8 and 7/8inch diameter disc with a 1 inch spline and 23 splines

A 94 Ranger with a 4.0L 6cyl has a disc diameter of 10 inches with a 1 inch spline with 23 splines.
So I would say a 3.0L would interchange but what if the used one has a weak pressure plate or a worn out disc? The clutch set new is only 119.00 and the slave cylinder is 49.99.
If it were me I'd try to find a friend who has some mechanical knowledge and would help me do it myself or find a mechanic who works on the side to make extra money. Good luck
