Default New Guy with 98 Mazda

I recently bought a 1998 Mazda B2500. On the way home I was low on gas, so the Check Gauge light came on. So I filled the truck completely up and now the Check Gauge light comes on randomly during acceleration for a second or two. Oil and temp gauges never move from the middle.

What gives?

Thanks

Makes sense. The fuel gauge is reading way lower than it should also, but sometimes it reads correctly.

Any advice on what is likely to be wrong with the float or how to fix it?

I guess I need to learn how to pull the bed off this truck.
