You sure can test it with a meter. You just unplug it, put the meter on the wires, and watch the ohms as you open and close the throttle (with the engine off). If it goes wacky, you'll see it.

Thanks. I'll try it.

Just tested it and this is what I found. Resistance wouldn't go any lower than .55 and it topped out at about 3.6. But it was smooth throughout the throttle range which tells me that its good?

I have no idea what the min/max should be. But the big thing is that it was a smooth sweep up and down.

Well, I've looked for all possibles without just throwing cash at random parts. I've just come to the conclusion that the IAC valve is not a smooth transitioning component in the throttle control system so therefor when I vary the gas pedal movement any then the IAC moves as well.....but abruptly.....giving the harsh reaction. Unless there's something I'm missing.

BTW, if you plan on taking the TPS out of the intake manifold for some reason, be careful with it, specifically screwing it back into the manifold. I over torqued one of the screws and couldn't put the TPS back in properly. The result is high idling and rev's not going down properly. Don't want to see my mistake repeated.
