Default 96 2.3 PCV Valve????

I bought my 96 Extended Cab Ranger last year. The guy i bought it from bought it new and never did more than keep the oil changed and change tires. When i got it had 239,000 miles on it and the guy never did a tune up of any sort. Before i even put it on the road i changed the plugs, wires, oil and filter, timing belt and air cleaner.I still have not found the PCV Valve.Does anyone know where it is??I have a Haynes manual but the two places it indicates is not where it is.Its gotta have one but where??

It's tough to find. I wish I had stumbled upon this forum instead of
running around the motor for several minutes.

The PCV inserts into a tray which extends from the block just
beneath the valve cover (under plug #2 as the previous member
stated).
