Default Is there an interchange guru in the house?

Hello all,

New guy here looking for information. Yeah, I know, big deal, so what else is new?
Anyway, here is what I'd like to know. I have 2 Rangers, 1 is a '95 with the 2.3, the other being a '98 with the 2.5.

Will these engine interchange?

From what I can see, they look to be the same engine. I can't really tell much about the 2.5 because it suffered an electrical fire that destroyed pretty much all of the wiring in the engine compartment.

If the intake will interchange I think this is a go, but I'd like the opinion of someone that has actually worked with both of these engines and knows if this will work.

The computer for the 2.5 was destroyed so the 2.3 computer will need to be used with the 2.5. My thought is the computer should be able to compensate for the slight change in displacement.

Thanks for any input or advice.

Yes you can swap. The 2.5 just has .2 more litres of displacement.

Thank you.

Daiblo, that was just the information I was looking for. I must admit that the H.A.M.B would have been the last place I would have suspected to find such information, it just seems out of place there to me.

Live and learn eh.

Thanks again.
