Default 2.3 isnt heating up?

i have a 93 xlt with the 2.3 and ever since i got it the temp gauge will barley move its blowing heat after like 10 min so i replaced the thermostat and the temp sensor today thinking one of the 2 would fix the problem nothing at all changed! what else could it? any help is greatly appreciated

May be your gauge cluster isn't working correct on the temperature meter.

how do you pull the gauge cluster? i have a few bulbs to replace back there anyway

There are two sensors. One for the gauge and one for the computer. Did the one you replaced have one wire or 5? The single wire sensor is for the gauge.

10 minutes is a long time to wait for heat so I don't think this is a sensor problem. I think you still have something wrong. Low coolant, a bad t-stat, or a failing water pump can all cause this. The problem is NOT the heater core since that would not cause the gauge to read low.

i replaced the inline temp sensor it just threaded in and it had a connecter on the oppsite side as the battery?

Did it have 1 wire or more than 1 wire? Unless this engine only has one sensor.

Regardless, the most likely cause of this is still a defective t-stat. Second leading cause is a failing water pump and low coolant.
