My little brother has a 2.3t super coupe engine on my engine stand in the shop right now. He plans a future 2.3T in his '01 2.5L truck. Alot of guys rob the crank, rods, and pistons for their 2.3T builds(what my brother is doing). They're forged and the internals on those are nearly bulletproof. The engine of choice to build up would be a 95-97 2.3L from a Ranger. I don't know what makes them so nice, but I assume higher quality materials used to pour the block and the intake design is alot better than older 2.3L's. Some if not most opt for a p&p'd 2.5L head for the better air flow charactoristics.
You do know your 2.3 and the older Lima 2.3L/2.5L is a totally different engine right?
And I know...i probably went beyond what you were looking for in an answer...but...blah! lol.
small moot point, but I ripped the 4 wire connectors off the top of the front adjustable shocks to use with my electrical mods on my truck. nice big fat 12ga wire on those connectors. Regular tbirds don't have those adjustable suspensions on 'em. Just the Super Coupe's.
