ya the reason is there's no need for the added stress on the motor when the motor is so low of emissions out put to begin with so ford stoped med way through the 07 year and there thats why some 07s and newer dont have them

well i be dam it dose say that but why would ford not have any part # or no service manuals that reference it? and its not on the line of the obd:? i will check in the referee book i have but its a 07 so it might not have a CA II section in it ?

ok Shawn
1 that valve you see there is part of the heat system watter flow control
2 the CA II code in the referee hand book say and i quote "that only one of but not limited to one of the per declared devices could be use to conform to but not regulated to any form there of to control emission in any or all motor vehicles deemed pliable by governing jurisdiction" so i translate that to thay could have use any combo of the four to get or reach emissios standerds

the four mentioned in the book are as fallows just as in the sticker!
twc/ho2s/sfi/egr plus the bar of California dose not have a listing of egr valves for the 2.3 l4 motors from ford but hey the state of California could be wrong and so could i

well damn I'm trying to find mine in my 02 2.3 B2300 and I'm having trouble... haha
here's some pictures:



All the same I'm not entirely sure what I'm even looking for, based on the description on the link earlier in this thread I have a slight idea, but it's still a little unclear where it may be...

ok i did find the egr valve it is on the motor just above the trans and pinched in buy the fire wall and trans. you will need to remove the tranny and pull the motor forward a little to get to it. so for me thats just not going to happen. just for may be a 1 or 2 more mpg when i already get like 29 to 36 mpg to start with. so when i asked the mechanics at ford thay said it did not have one now thay are eating crow! Shawn you should have bet me you would have won some $.

^lol you would think so. they read a generic service manual and BOOM. ford mechanic name tag like it's nothin'.
But what kind of tubing goes back to the exhaust and does it connect like right after the headers?
cause if it's metal tubing I'd just cut it at both ends and weld on a piece of metal to it. haha.

I found a way to easily block it off (15min job) just 2 bolts that are easy to get to.

I just got my scan gauge today. So now I will do a before & after block off MPG test & will let you all know if it is worth the effort & does it add MPG like it did on the older vehicles like my 95 F-150.
