Question wheres the themostat?

i have a small leak at the radiator im guessing BC the thermostat is bad so it caused alotta pressure in the radiator to crack. im gona fdix the hole with weld and bought a new thermostat but idk where it is. theres two hoses. one ontop and the other on the bottom of the radiator. as shown in pic where i am pointing thats where i THINK it is. LMK guys. its a V4 2WD

It is where the top hose ends at the engine.

Where you are pointing is correct

That's not a thermostat problem. Don't waste your time and money. The radiator cap regulates pressure. But it shouldn't even need to on a normal basis so it's more likely the radiator is just old and leaking.

so u dont think its not the trhermostat? it doesnt overheat or anything just that the hoses are pretty tight and theres a small hole at the radiator so im thinking the thermostat isnt opening up when it should.

No. The thermostat has NOTHING to do with pressure. The radiator cap is the pressure regulator. Either the cap is bad or you just have a leaking radiator. It happens. The T-Stat has NOTHING to do with any of this.

i DO know how to work on CARS not trucks. ive never dealt with fords before only foreign cars but im not certified mechanic i just have a little more than basic knowledge on mechanical things. If u couldnt give me advice on my issue then there was no need for your comment. this is a ford ranger forum right? where we discuss FORD RANGERS for help or share tips and thats what im doing. im looking for advice

so i guess i'll replace the cap and return the thermostat and patch that hole. see how that goes. if i still have a prob then i'll replace the whole radiator. or should i replace the steering column? its not that serious being that it doesnt overheat i just wanted to fix it before it falls apart on me
