Default vacuum hose- back of intake

2003 2.3 litr ranger
so i found that i have lots more problems goin on with my truck than i thought. me and some buddies replaced the motor in it a couple years back and i knew very little about what i was doing and lots of vacuum hoses got disoriented. im a lot more knowledgable about these things now and i need to get it back right. i have egr problems and it could be due to the vacuum line on the back of the intake being plugged off.

there is 2 lines coming off the back of the intake, one goes down somewhere(i forgot now that im typing this) and the other faces down around the egr(between firewall and engine) i loosened the intake and tried feeling around for anything that felt like it would plug in and found nothing. does anyone know where this line goes? its about 1/4" diameter.
