New to Ford, and to trucks, and frustruted with CEL
Just got a 1994 ford ranger. Seems like a great truck. 4 cylinder, 5 speed, extended cab. But the check engine light came on near the end of my 2 hour ride home and I've been to two mechanics trying to fix it. The first couldn't, but found >$200 worth of other problems. The second was the dealer, who charged me >$300 and sent me to an exhaust specialist, who charged me >$400 more.
The light still comes on when I'm going down the highway, but cuts off when I pull into the shop. I've read a little in the posts, and it says this model year can't store the codes, so how do I go about fixing this problem (without going broke), please . . . !
