The 2.5 from 2000 and early 2001 I would expect 25 overall.
The 2001-2006 duratecs I would expect 26-27 overall.......the supercabs would be 2-3 mpg less because of the weight and gearing.
Just be prepared for some serious exaggerations!!!!!!! Some have claimed 34 highway!

with my 2004 ranger 2.3 duratec i have averaged a combined city/highway in one week and got 29 mpg average for the week. I am impressed with that since mine is a automatic as well.

Check out the Rangers On Fuelly. It has avg mpg for Rangers from 1985 to present. A lot depends on how you drive.

The regular cabs have a big advantage over the supercabs in fuel economy. 4.11 axle vs 3.73 and 300 lbs less curb weight. Still don't know how people get the same or better fuel economy than my son's Focus or my wife's Honda Civic?????????

i would say no more than 30 with a 4 cylinger..i am happy with 28-29...they do well on gas for a truck. You should be anywhere from 25-29 mpg i would say.

What a vehicle can get for mileage has far more to do with who is behind the wheel and their commute then anything else. I have a 2011 Supercab manual transmission. With me driving my commute I have gotten as high as 31 and as low as 26. My average is 29 over the last 25 fillups.

As an example I drove my wifes Mazda5 for 1 week, when I filled it up I averaged 35.8 mpg. For 3 straight years she consistently averaged 25 mpg. Recently she listened to what I have been telling her about acceleration, AC useage and speed. Her 1st tank implementing 3 minor changes her mileage was up to 28 mpg.

I track my fuel economy on the EPA's website, I have been for years. I do wish the supercab had the 3.73 rear end as an option.

29 mpg average in a supercab is impossible if not laughable.
