Default Check Engine Light - 97 2.3l

Trying to resolve Check Engine Light for a 1997 2.3L.

Auto Zone came up with:

P1131 Lack of bank 1 02 Transitions - lean
Explanation detected bank 1 02 at its lean limit
Probable cause misfire on bank 1.
vacuum affecting ank 1 only.
fuel injector problem bank 1.
engine mechanical condition.

P0171 Fuel trim bank one condition
Explanation The powertrain control module uses the oxygen
sensor to calculate the air/fuel ratio of the engine.
The computer has recognized a rich or lean condition
on one engine bank only.
Probable cause If bank one and two codes set together, suspect
fuel pressure or MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor.
Oxygen sensor defective.
Ignition misfire - repair.
Fuel Injector problem.
Which side is bank 1? Thanks for you input. Daldup

Any luck resolving the issue? My Ranger is throwing the same two codes so I'd be interested if you have any update. Thanks.

Welcome........we need details.......create a signature with as much info about your truck as possible............does the truck run bad?.have you done any maintenance..........first thing to do is maintenance...check the front o2 sensor connection .airfilter, air intake, clean maf, clean IACV, TB, change fuel filter, PCV, vacuum leaks, add a bottle of techron to the tank etc. if that does not take care of it you probably need a new front O2 sensor

my truck has similar issues, I did a tune up, changed O2sensor and it still rand bad, i did a compression test and cylinder # 2 has very little compression. My truck has over 200K miles so I'm looking for an engine... if I don't find anything in a week or two, i will be pulling the head off and taking a look. If the bottom end looks "ok" I will do a valve job and put it back together.

Try cleaning your MAF sensor as well as checking for vacuum leaks and if you have it available test your injector with a multimeter or listen for ticking sounds with a stethoscope
