hi iv got a 96 2.3 ford ranger 5 speed and the motor wont seem to go up into rpms it bogs out and starts ideling rought and stalls i think it may be fuel problem but i can here the fuel pump running any ideas?

check for compression. check for spark. and check fuel pressure.

I've got a similar problem with my truck. Took it to many shops to figure it out, everybody gave me BS except one. They told me the valves were sticking and there was a loss of compression.

OP:
Pick up some throttlebody and MAF cleaner and spray down the throttlebody and MAF sensor. The other thing you can do is pick up a can of Seafoam and see if that helps. Follow the directions on the bottle for the seafoam.
