'83 2.3L YFA Carb Problems (CARB GURU REQUIRED)
Long story short:
My '83 Rangers carb has an interesting problem. I have to hold my foot to the floor on the gas the entire time to maintain idle, like it's not getting fuel.
Take the carb apart and it's getting plenty of fuel, the tiny injection pump inside the carb has a small plastic line that goes into a valve-body in the side of the carb. That valve body feeds into the little coffee-straw like carb entrance for the fuel.
This little valve body is supposed to have a ball in the bottom, then a small piece of brass on top. It does, but the gasket that was on it before (when runnning) has that slot blocked off.
The carb is re-routing fuel back into the bowl so the trucks barely getting anything. If you manually actuate the throttle 0 fuel enters the barell through the coffee-straw type tube.
Any carb guys wanna give it a shot? I can take pics and post them for referance. This is my first carberatuer I've ever had to work on so I'm diving in with 0 knowledge of what I'm doing just FYI.
