Exclamation 2.3l dieseling

Recently picked up a 94 2.3l 5speed with only 135k from a friend for 500 bucks.
it was running really bad, no spark on cyl3. Replaced the coils
And it came to life. Now after a Few days of driving I've noticed
its dieseling pretty bad at higher RPMs and has a very ruff idle.
im also getting the smell of raw gas. My buddy drove the truck to and from work
Everyday a few miles away for atleast a month. Could he have hurt the engine running with a down cylinder all the time? I have researched a little and tryed better gas and fuel injector cleaner and it seemed to only get worse.
Any and all help would be appreciated, thx in advanced!

check all your vaccum lines.spray carb cleaner or wd40 on the lines and gaskets to see if idle changes.

Running with a cylinder not firing but getting fuel is a good way to kill o2 sensors and converters.

You are dieseling because you have carbon deposits and extra fuel. the carbon glows red and ignites the fuel. . Do a seafoam treatment first and then change plugs and wires. The passenger side plugs are most important. Also pull the vacuum line off the FPR and make sure no fuel is in the line.

I prefer Techron in the tank to clean the fuel system
