Default Question about the 2.3L!

I have a quick question about the 2.3L. I was wondering whats the normal RPM range it should be while idling? At the moment mine is idling around 1000 and 1200 RPM (after the engine warm up cycle), which seems high to me. I was given this truck yesterday, which is why I am not sure about the RPM range. Also, is it supposed to have a quick acceleration when you take your foot off the brake and be able to get up to 20 mph with me not touching the gas at all? Thanks in advance!

the idle range sould be about 800-900 rpm. and i would say the reason it has the quick acceleration when you let off of the brake is because the idle is set a tad to high.
