I've got an 07 ranger 2.3L reg cab short bed auto I've recently purchased. I did a complete tune up, fluids, plugs, etc. I only get 14mpg in town and 19 at 70mph on the interstate? What gives.

I have a 2.9 v6 and I think I get somewhere around 17 to 22, But i can't watch my rpms cuz i don't have a rpm gauge.
I'd probally get better mpg if i got a tune up though.

Try scrubbing your engine with some seafoam, it boosted my fuel economy from the 19ish range up to 21-22 mpg. Carbon deposits and dirty fuel injectors can ding your mpg.

I do see 24 mpg on occasion but the hills around here kinda make that a not too often occurrence. Since it's more flat there, you might see better results.

I ran a bottle of techron through it when I got it. I've used seafoam before.. just one bottle in the tank. I'll see what happens this tank.. When i changed the plugs they weren't very carboned nor was the IAC which I was surprised. Kind of got me at a loss.
