Default Help! Acceleration problems with a 2.3

I have a stock 2003 Ranger with a 2.3/5-speed. I have started having problems with quick accelerations. It will miss when I accelerate quickly in all gears, and it misses out terribly on the low side of 1st and 2nd gears. It seems to run fine even at hwy speed, and it accelerates fine if I increase speed slowly. Would anyone have any ideas where to start looking? My first thoughts would be the coil or mass airflow sensor.....maybe even the fuel pump. Check engine light does not come on either. Hmmmm......any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

It has approx. 162k and it does have a slight miss at idle. I haven't done anything to it yet except a plug and wire change, which didn't solve anything.

Bring all the maintenance up to standard............what plugs and wires did you use? was the miss there before the p and W change?

Yes, the miss was present before I changed the plugs and wires. Also, I have changed the fuel filter this morning and nothing changed.

Ok guys, I've changed the mass air flow sensor, ignition coil, fuel filter, pvc valve, and done the regular maintenance. I still have the same freakin issue. Grrrr...

Any other ideas out there??
