2000 Ranger w/2.5 banger

Just picked up a 2000 in mint condition thing looks showroom almost...but what im wondering is how to get more power. I live in Ohio and we have lots of hills and this 4 banger screams like a banshee but don't go anywhere.

Been thinking about that K&N system and cutting out the catalytic converter and adding a straight pipe and then some kind of high flow muffler.

Is the K&N worth the almost $300 price tag muffler another hundred ...what you guys think?

just buy a drop in K&N, dnt wast your money on that worthless cold air crap, do an airbox mod
