I never said I cared. And there's no reason to get bent out of shape. You asked me a question, and I replied. If you could provide some actual facts as to why I'm wrong, let's hear it.

Also, I'd like to know what "books and schools" you're referring to that devote their curriculum to airbox resonators.

I rarely drink, either. Funny though, today happens to be the rare day that I am. I'm on my 4th beer now.

lol intakes. fights. beer. and drinks...great stuff...but is there much difference between the 2.0 and the 2.3? for the intake? i have a million hoses and stuff to mine...and wanted to put a intake in it.. but didnt no wat i needed or didnt..some people say it wont run right. some say i only need one thing. some say it will do nothing. i have the 2.0...and evin if is does nothting diferent..it still make the engine look beter. it will difintily help cool the engine and gas and hp. evin if its just a tiny bit...with the economy anythings better then buying all new shit. so minor repairs or things that will help are alwas good. going to school for michanic u learn things u never woulda thought bout. thats one of them. well kinda lol..but any inputs on this are welcome...as far as my engine/intake..thats realy y i looked up this post..and replied.

dont wast money on one just remove the muffler into the intake box. you will get just as much as a cai, plus dont know or even never seen one for the 2.3.

Look, I don't want to argue with anyone over something so trivial.
All I'm saying is that anyone who does this should keep there expectations realistic. If you were to put the truck on a dyno and test it, then remove a piece of plastic and test it again, is there really going to be any change in the numbers? To say "yes" would be a bit of a stretch.

I think, if anything, it's more of a perceived performance increase. It makes it a bit louder, I'll be the first to admit that, but I compare it to a loud exhaust. Sometimes just being louder gives the impression of more power, even if it's not really there.

I know, it's cool. Nothing wrong with a little banter, as long as it stays good-natured, of course.

Now to add a little fuel to the fire...

If removing the "muffler" increases airflow, which would increase power and theoretically improve MPG, why would it be there in the first place? These days, with high gas prices and auto companies in a constant battle to make their vehicles the most fuel efficient, why would they intentionally add something that would restrict the HP and MPG numbers?

Food for thought.
