lighten the truck up as much as possible. all that aftermarket crap that you don't really need adds weight. other than that not much can be done without spending big bucks

i was using my truck as an example, i have a heavy fiberglass cap on it and about 300 pounds of firefighting gear i haul around with me on a daily basis. or in some cases that big speaker box and other junk adds weight. if your truck is completley clean with no extra goodies then all you can do is live with what milage your getting unless your willing to dish out some cash for some upgrades like exhoust and intake work or transplant that turbo from an old t-bird.

if someone else has any ideas please add to this.

Hmm, seeings how it is a 94 with more than likely the original motor you can modify up but you will probably accomplish no more than getting it back to stock. You should focus on ensuring you are up to date on all maint. rear diff. fluid can rob power when old, as well as any old/dirty/ build up infested parts. Dropping the cat was the worst thing you could have done for your 4. You should replace it not drop it. You'll lose 30% minimum TQ by doing that. Start with the basics, plugs, wires, etc. Then when you have upgraded these, and all fluids are flushed, belts replaced, you can look into unlocking some HP with a CAI, Catback, then a chip to get the full benefit. I recommend you not mess with the rest of the stock exhaust until you replace the cat.

Seeing as it is a 94 2.3L you could swap your engine for a 2000+ 2.3 as the newer ones have 48 more HP than your 1994
