When you unhook the hydrolic line from the tranny the system is still pressurized.

So I cracked open the bleeder valve above the slave to relieve the pressure pushed in the slave and the resistance was gone and she went in.
did you install a New slave?.....I have done two of these clutch jobs so far and have not run into that issue......I would think that if the slave needed to be compressed then wouldn't it be forced into the PP when it was under pressure thus releasing the clutch.........I also read a lot of threads before i did my first one and never read about this issue

When you did your clutches if you installed a new slave there would be no fluid in the slave until you bleed the system right. Let me try and clarify. I just pumped(compressed) the slave to pump the fluid out to relieve resistance. Today I will try to bleed the clutch. Wish me luck.
