Default turbo engine swap on an 83

hi i got a 1983 ford ranger with a 2.3l carb engine and i have been thinking of doing a 2.3 turbo swap with fuel injection and a megasquirt stand alone but i dont know how hard it would be. please let me know

You dont need to swap a whole engine just to turbo your truck.

well its carberated right now and i dont know if i can swap the intakis and make it fuel injected.

You can turbo a Carb. But if you want fuel injected it would be wiser to swap like you said.

yeah but i dont want to use the 8 spark plug motor motor i just want to switch my intake. can i do that?

If your just gonna run the carb there's more to it than just plumbing.
mods have to be done to make it work. Fuel pressure also needs to be boost referenced.

Its gonna take alot of work either way bro.

i dont mind doing the work. its kinda easy for me i have helped me freinds do motor swaps and turbo stuff on hondas plenty of times

Trucks are a little different. I do Turbos on mercedes and BMWs.
So if you can do the work. I would go with fuel injection.

if you want EFI youll want a new engine. If you want to stay floated (carbed) then you can stick with your engine now.
