Default 99 ranger 2.5 dpfe question

Good day while I was driving , I noticed that my truck would suddenly buck every time I hit a bump or if I put the pedal to the floor. What I found was the dpfe sensor and bracket rotted off and was just sitting on top of the exhaust manifold. Does anyone know which vac line goes on the top and the bottem of the egr heat tube? One line is definitly smaller in diameter. Also because the bracket is rotted away, does this unit need to be grounded externally? And is their a way to check it electrically? with a volt meter? Again its a 99 ranger 2wd 2.5.
thank you

i thinnk you answered your own question. I looked at mine and the smaller tube witch is closer to the pssenger side goes into the smaller nipple that comes out of the middle of the egr tube. the other tube witch is bigger and closer to the drivers side goes to the bottom of the egr tube

I cant answer the ground question but these sensr do fail and I can not image them boucing around helping anything.....go to the JY and get a new bracket.
