Default Any 1984 2.3 experts in the house?

:1984 Ranger 2.3 2wd 68k original miles. Bought from original owner. Clean, straight old truck. Has internittent stumble during acceleration and internittent rough idle issues. Replaced disributor, cap, rotor, wires, plugs, installed a NOS OEM Ford carb!! Not cheap either. Replaced o2 sensor, CDI box, checked cam timing. All is spot on. Fuel mix screw on carb is dialed and likes 2.5-2.75 turns out. Checked compression. Did a leak down. Removed CAT. Still runs a bit rich along with the stumbles and poor idling. Is there a way or benfit to removing all of the computer controlled gargage on the left side of the engine compartment. Even when all is unplugged, air pump is disabled, and all carb vents are routed to atmosphere it still has this same problem. I know thats alot to digest but i still a billion of this truck out on the road and know there has to be an expert or experienced ranger man out there. Thanks for tuning in, billsmcplus
