Exclamation NEED HELP ASAP!!! coolant leak - heater pipe?

so I get home from work tonight and smell coolant, pop the hood and everything is covered in it. There's a small pipe that comes out of the same area as the upper radiator hose and points towards the passenger side of the engine. There's a pinhole in that pipe and it's blowing coolant onto the fan, which is in turn blowing it all over the engine room.

I've looked around online and I can't find anything to help me find a replacement part. So does anyone know of a source for diagrams with part numbers for external engine parts? I'm guessing there has to be some exploded diagrams floating around the web somewhere...

If you register with Autozone you can access vehicle repair guides for free. I haven't so I don't know how good it is. Costs nothing I think.

My cdmanual only goes back to 97, but for the dual plug 2.3 the part # in component list is #62 Part#8594 Water Outlet Connection, which appears to be the upper hose connection and it has what appears to be a heater hose pipe running off of it. If you send me a pm with your email I can send you a file with the upper engine parts component diagram and parts list.

This is where the leak is coming from, at least where I saw it spraying out of...

and this is a view of coolant dripping down my brake booster and pooling on my brake fluid reservoir cap. It's really blowing all over everything.

See if the Autozone link helps. If they have a repair manual for yours maybe you can look-up coolant leaks. If not maybe an exploded parts diagram?

Your link takes me to napa's home page. When I check for a 95 2.3 ranger it shows 2 different parts, #BK 6051708 with the sensor port looks like the correct part since you appear to have a sensor next the upper hose. You may want to check to see if it matches napa's pic or if the sensor is in the head. If it is then its the other part you want. The part #'s I sent you are fords.

I was trying to link to 6051708... they have it in stock at my local Napa, so I might ride my motorcycle over there tomorrow. Oy. It looks like it was on the engine on the Titanic... any chance I'm getting it off my engine without breaking anything (bolts, etc)?

So I'm halfway through replacing the water outlet housing. I'll post a pic of the old vs. new later on. Came apart fairly easily... it seems that everything in that area is soaked in oil (which is probably actually really bad) so the bolts came right out. Also sprayed everything with Thrust before I began. Sensor came out of the old pipe pretty easily too. Hard part right now is scraping the old gasket off, since it's tucked under there pretty well. *sigh*

C'est fini.

not as bad as I thought. Thanks for the responses so late last night, everyone, and littleblue especially for the exploded diagram. This was the fourth "fix-it-or-don't-drive-it" repair since I bought this thing in October.

1) Timing Belt
2) Shackles
3) Ignition Lock Cylinder
4) Water Outlet

each of these suffered complete failure. Hence the big red words in my sig. *fake smile*
