Default which 4 cyl to pick???

i was thinking of getting a different truck that gets better mileage. was thinking one with a 4cyl and 5 speed. what year trucks are best all around. i want this thing to last. im thinking of something early 2000s but what do you think??????

from experience 98-01 2.5L's have been good to me.. got 286,000 out of a '98 (sold it) and its still running today... great gas mileage, and very dependable, relatively cheap. gave $1300 for the one I have now ('99 mazda 2.5L)

ok cool. what do you think about the 2.3?

oh and i saw a truck on craigslist a 05 with 2.3 do you know much about those years?

Depending on your budget, since you want it to last, just look for newest one with lowest mileage,etc. you can find. The year not too important I think. Good time to find one now since some predict 5 dollar/gallon gas in 2012.

dn't know much about the 2.3DOHC, but I can tell you there are plentiful amount of 2.3-2.5 lima engine parts, new and junk yards..

i've got the 2.3 OHV Pinto motor, it's pretty good so far.

my 2.5 lima is bullet proof. 128k and it runs like new.
