Yes, I'm resurrecting this thread again since I got an 87 2.3 back in January. 1st pic: Fuel reservoir, it's a form of a filter, usually used for dual tank Rangers, why single tank rangers got it is beyond me. 2nd pic: high pressure fuel pump and 3rd & 4th pics: the hole is for a pre-heater house, yes, a pre-heater hose... on a multi-port FI engine, weird. It went from the exhaust mani, into the intake tube that went from the front of the truck, into the bottom of the air filter box. And yes 2.3's went multi-port in 85, however the 2.0 did not, it was always carbed, also it only came with manual trans, had manual steering, and manual brakes.

4 year old thread....the truck was probably junked by now.
Not all 85 2.3s were fuel injected, some still had carbs on them.......it was just optional.
The 2.0 carbed engines just made the driver think twice about using an interstate because they were so slow. Dangerously slow.

Lol yeah he junked it,

As for the 2.0's It's not the 80 hp that scares me, it's the barely 100 ft lbs of tq!!
