Question Cleaning the cylinder head on a 2.5

Hey everyone,

So to update everyone on my ailing ranger, I finally found a used cylinder head that seems to be on good shape, but is in need of a cleaning. How can I go about this myself and do I need to remove th valves and everything before doing so? I was hoping to soak it in some sort of solution ad then scrub it the next day so any advice will greatly help...all I want for Christmas is my ranger to get back on the road

Intake side should be fine, but use brake cleaner, and a stiff bristle brush to clean the exhaust ports, and combustion chamber. You can lap the valves to get a better seal, and new valve seals are a must. I use brake cleaner all the time. It works really well, but does have a bad smell when mixed with used oil.
