Default 2.3L exhaust glowing red hot

2.3l in my 85 Ford Ranger 4x4..

Any ideas why my exhaust is glowing red hot?

I think I might have some vacuum leaks but I don't know if it is that..

Any ideas?

Thanks

could be, usually a red glow is sign of running lean.

check fuel pressure, and for vacuum leaks.

most likely running lean but valve timing could also be off.

Lean is a condition where you have significantly less fuel then the stoichiometric combustion ratio. (which happens to be 14.7:1)

It basically means you don't have enough fuel going into your cylinder.
