Default 2.3 question

Where does the vaccum hoses go on the fuel injector manifold?

There are three that looks cut...ones RED, GREEN, AND BLACK.

I think the red one goes to the air filter box cause there is a red hose like it cut in half.

My truck is sluggish and I know it's due to them cause they are sucking up air and then when I close them up with my finger the truck idles better.

OK, that's much better, triyng to figure out whhere on you engine this is located at?

Yea I did 15 years logging before the timber industry took a nose dive. With a new baby had to do something, so went to work for the USFS

Gotta make a short run here be back in a bit.........

OK I'm back, Is this vacume junction located on the right side? The green one you can put a nipple cap on for now, the red line goes to a coupler with a black line which goes to the vacume reservoir, a round canister with two plastic black lines, check a that one out. the only other red vac line I have on my '96 is to the fuel regulator on the fuel rail itself.

I think I've found where the green and red lines go. Green looks to go to some electrical thing and the red goes below the airfilter housing.

My stupid starter is engaging...just put a new one on....had starter problems before...

Yeah...logging is going good over here. Some Germans are making a Biomass plant in a county near me...so it's going to make PULPWOOD $$$$$.

Yeah, I was thinking about going with the USFS but no one is near me...have to move to Florida for that and I don't want to.

Anyone help me?

Starter is engaging while I am driving.

My ignition will turn on the fuel pump but when I turn it to crank up the engine the fuel pump shuts off and nothing makes any noises but when I pull the ignition back to the ACC (I reckon) my fuel pump will come back on.

So I have to hit my solenoid with my screwdriver to crank the engine.

Any ideas why my starter is sticking and why my ignition ain't working?

Does sound like your key switch is bad and I'd swap out your starter solenoid also..........

Think I've found a diagram but what does most of this stuff mean?

Like FPR,SOL V, MAP(think that's for the EGR tube vacuum piece), ACL?

I think I've gotten the SOL V hooked up..

Anyone?

That's great! Looks like the vac. line latout diagram, that'll take care of that probem. How's going with the starter problem ?

I've been doing some research on Injectors for my Ranger Finally located the correct ones for the upgrade / project I'm getting ready to do.

----------

Here's a couple sites for you to sit down and enjoy, Ford Fulel Injection.com, 2.3L modifacations .com Or getting the most out of your ford 2.3. If you have problems let me know. Great referance materal .............

Ok so my 2.3 only has to vacume lines and they don't look anything like yours. But since it looks like you found a home for the red and green lines the black one may connect to the fpr (fuel pressure regulator). On my truck I have one line that connects from the fpr to a port behind the throttle body and that's it. I'll do alittle research and see what else I can come up with if anything as far as the starter, when you turn your key on your fuelpump primes for 2-3secs then stops as soon as u start the truck it will turn back on. If your starter is randomly kicking in while driving I would maybe look into the starter relay. If your ignition and key are moving while driving I doubt it would be that

I hooked up the rubber hose from the FPR on the side of the FI Main Vac and then there is 6 vacuum holes..one has my brake booster hose, one is capped, one goes to the MAP sensor, the red one goes to the air filter housing below it and then connects to another red hose that goes to the EGR two black piece things with two wire harnesses plugged in them (with a vac thing on back blowing out air)...my green vacuum line went to this too but was looking on a vacuum diagram and it has a green vac running to a EGR AND VRESER (top right egr, vreser on the above vac diagram)..
