Exclamation Weird grindy sound and ticking (d-tec 2.3)

My brother's 06 ranger recently started making an intermittent grindy type sound around the passenger side of his engine. Not sure what it is, what do you guys think? Also he was worried about the ticking which you can also hear. I figured the ticking is fine, its just the cam lobes making contact with the top of the valves i figured but maybe im wrong? Heres a vid...

Maybe something to do with the timing chain tensioners...?

injectors or timing chain issue? Seems like it could be a few things...but that only explains the ticking. What about the grindy noise?

pretty sure the grinding is a timing chain issue

injector clicking is normal no issue there

I wonder if the timing chain tensioner is locked up or putting to much tension on the chain. I don't know the physics of how it works on that truck. But on my YZ250F it is possible for the chain to be to tight, this would be caused by the tensioner being extended to far out. Just a thought
