Default Thermostat housing???

2000 Ranger 2.5L. Eight plugs. This is a bummer. I thought I was going to just take off the hose and there the thing will be but I can not find how to take this housing off to get to the thermostat. Does anyone know of any illustrations that show how to take this housing off or can explain in detail where the bolts are that hold it on? A picture would be great of the housing. Thanks!!!

This is a great help! Do you know what kind of tool it will take to get to the bolts or screws? Looks to be a tight working area to get into. Thanks once again for your time with this. Much appreciated.

You're welcome!
No, I don't know what tools you'll need to take it off. Sorry.
Maybe someone else that has done this will chime in shortly.

it think it is an 8mm.......there are 2 bolts....remove the fan shroud(2 bolts).........it makes it a little easier to get at.........I would strongly suggest getting the oem motrocraft tstat......and a new gasket..........the tstat needs to be turned before you pull it out.......make sure you install it the same way........

I know this is an old post, but what website did this diagram come from? I would like to find a OEM Ford parts website that shows illustrated diagrams such as these. If anyone can help me out, I would really appreciate it. I have only found one some what decent site.

Thanks in advance.
