Duratec 2.3 question
What are those 2 holes on the intake tube for? It's right at the elbow bend, they face the battery. I saw a Ranger that had tubes coming out of it and another box that curves around the PS fluid tank. Some have it, some don't.

I was gonna say dbl barrel potato launcher... its function is for a designed purpose. by I cldnt tell you why..

LOL @ that pic. Funny that the 4 cyl, especially one this new would require something like that. What's even weirder is that the V6's, which obviously put out more emissions, don't have anything like that!

In all seriousness, there were silencers on some models.
There was a box and a little cylinder type piece. I'd show you a photo but I swapped my intake out.
It's much cleaner in the bay withotu them, trust me.
