Default SVO 2.3 turbo in Ranger?

I have an '88 ranger with the underpowered 2.0l, 5-Speed. I found a 2.3l turbo from an SVO mustang at a salvage yard out here, I want to put it in my truck. I have a few questions. Will the transmission that is in my truck now work with the 2.3 engine from the mustang? I know I am going from carb to an injection system so I will need the harness and pcm. I also know I will need the chassis mounted fuel pump. I am very interested in gaining the 120hp, If anyone can lend some input it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Yes it will all work

Why not swap that tranny in there as well? It will be much better than your rangers

hoooo how do i start...... here is a list of what i had to start one I WAS GOING TO DO AND DID NOT

full engine harness
all senecers with air vane
i got the mounts for the 2.3 engine i know the ranger ones will work i did not check if the 2.0 where the same my had a v6
the intank turbo fuel pump. as it has more flow at higher perrsures
transmisson and bell houseing i was going to run the T5 style trans all you have to do is notch the hole where the shift goes throught the floor pan it sits closer to the dash but not much. i was resurching to use a hydrulic slave on my setup as the line is easier to run then cable but need more money then i had at the time.
custom drive shaft over 4 feet needs to be a 2 piece shaft make sure you got a good drive train shop around you these are hard to make and not have a shake or be at the wrong angle....
theres more i just forgetting its been awhile...

ya thats why i ended up with a v8 in one of my rangers. i sill have alot of my converting stuff if your intersted. but i can tell you if your going to use the air vane setup your not going to get 120 HP MORE!!!!! more like 60-80 HP more. the air vane sucks on the old mustangs, merkur, T-birds, cosworth and so on...... most that make over 300 HP have change there set to and independent setup like F.A.S.T. or greddy i think makes one or (mega Squirt )-keep in mind this setup is batch fire injectors and not single fire in less they have a new model out. good luck have fun there is a link to the ranger i built it is up for sale also i would take 1800.00 for it
