Default Losing Power?

Hello, I have a 1990 Ford Ranger 2.3l and I bought the truck with this problem, sadly I didn't know it had it until i had paid and tried to take it home.

The truck cranks real nice, sometimes takes a second turn to crank it but it's understandable seeing how it's a 20 year old truck. It shifts into gears real smooth too, but the problem is after about a mile, it loses power and doesn't accelerate and wants to stall? I open the hood and there's a lot of white smoke coming from a tube that goes from the engine to the intake(i think) It looks to be going to the radiator but it doesn't...

I have replaced fuel filter, did oil change, spark plugs replaced, and new filters also, but i do not know what it could be that's causing this problem. Also i think the thermostat isn't working because it doesn't show any movement on the dash.

If you need any pics i can post some because i really need to fix this truck asap because i don't have another car.

When you see this white smoke after you pop the hood, do you get a sweet taste in your mouth? Possible, blown head gasket. How many miles are on the truck?

And yeah, pictures would be nice.

also TerryDuanemiller, They didn't make a 2003 Mazda B2500. 1/2 way through 2001 Ford moved over to using the Mazda 2.3L Duratech motors which means your truck would be a 2003 Mazda B2300, unless you did a swap.

the tps is fine but when my father listen to it he said that one of the cylinders damaged and that the head gasket could be blown of values could be bent and the rings could be gone but im thinking that the timing belt has jumped slightly when i pull the plugs out half are wet and half are dry and i had that happen with my 91 geo storm and the belt kept slipping on that pos so im going to do a compression test and go from there
