94 ford ranger 2.3 hard to start when cold

I have a 94 ranger 2.3 and when it's cold it takes forever to start. Like 10 times of turning the key on it runs for a second then dies
Battery is good
I don't believe it's the fuel pump because when I cycle the key on and off it doesn't help

I'm lost here.

clogged fuel filter or injectors maybe....bad pcv valve letting too much vacuum be lost at idle
